That's what I was talking about when talking about clamping the springs.
I appreciate your input as always.

I forgot to mention i want to try and have my sliders raised by TM trip also.  I may need to order a matching seat ssince i need to rebuild my seat mounts when i do that.  that will be the expensive part but i will be better off with the sliders being 3 or 4 inches higher.  I would like to go higher actually but i'lll see what i can do when i get there.
hopefully i don't fawxor it up too bad
just all bad luck at this point.  whatever is the worst that can happen will

My drivers side high steer arm is shot.  I'm not going to waste money fixing assist steering so I may be done for the season.  I'm going to see if i can get it to work but i don't know how much i will trust it.

Long term plan is to get the PSC full hydro kit and artec double shear arms.

The whole wheel moved back and forth a good 3-4 inches which explains why it looked like it was going to fall off last weekend at TM when i was driving on the dirt road.

I'm going to move forward with installing my chromo shafts, fixing and beefing up leaf springs and any other small things while i save the money for new steering setup.

Could you drill that out and use a larger heim joint and a larger bolt?

Or take it off and have it welded and redrilled and reamed to the correct size. I wouldn't think hat would cost that much :2cent: :2cent:

At the last FF i was getting hung up on my sliders a lot so decided to take them up 6 1/2 inches.
Was a lot more work than i thought but got one side done over the weekend.  Need to do the other side this weekend.
Probably going to add some plate to the sides for boatsides and also plate the bottom of the truck as well.

also flipped my springs around so the bent side is in the rear of the front.  going to see how that holds up.  I used these clamps below to clamp the front side and hopefully it keeps it from bending, we'll see.
http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B003EP2PIS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

from the back you can see the drivers side slider over the tire and passenger side that isn't done yet it drops below tire.

You should get quite a bit more movement out of the heim than the TRE. :smokin:

It's that time of year to start working on crap as the evenings get cooler.
This year the kkattilac gets a big upgrade in the form of a work space.  poured concrete on the side of my house from sidewalk to my rv gate and today i put up a 2nd gate so that I can leave the blazer out and not have the city harass me.
Going to be nice to not have to work on the ground in the dirt for the first time.

Next order of business is a tool cart so I can wheel my sh** back and forth instead of making a mess of my garage.

Tomorrow is organize the garage day so I can begin work on the blazer.  Should have the garage cleaned and blazer pulled out before I call it a night tomorrow.

Front spring replacement will be first followed by new steering arms, move ram and install new tie rod with heims.
I'm debating the idea of taking the ram righ to the steering arm rather than to my tie rod.  I guess I'll see what I do when I get there.

Installed the new to me 52's springs on the front with some new shackles and got my steering redone again.

Running a boomerang arm on my passenger side so tie rod is behind the axle and ram now goes directly to the arm on the drivers side.  Tie rod and drag link now have 7/8 heims instead of tre's.

I picked up an orbital from Billy so I think I'm going to go fully hydro with my single ended ram.

Went out today with Davies for a quick shakedown and everything worked well.  Need to do an alignment and install the orbital and I'll be ready to roll.

the kkattilac is going full retard a.k.a. full hydro on a budget.

after seeing my bent drag link, badly cracked hoses and all around half assery of my steering I pulled the box tonight and made a mess of my new concrete.
I have an orbital that is probably going to be super slow.
I have the adapter to mount the ram to my column.
I am going to reuse my single ended 2x8 ram.

and I am going to pray to Trump tower that it holds together until I can get some more money for a double ended ram and some of them fancy artec arms.

Since I am full retard going full hydro I need to take my orbital and old lines in tomorrow to see what size fittings I need on the new hoses.  The old hoses obviously fit on the ram, however the other end is too small for the orbital.
This should be fun for the parts guy.

After all that is done I hope my pump holds up....

Amber found a Coleman 12v cooler at a yard sale yesterday for $25 bucks.
Plugged it in and let it run overnight and it's ice cold.  Looks brand new so I guess I'll be wiring that into my rig with a switch so That I can use it on the trail.
I'd been looking at them but they are expensive new.

I tend to over think and talk myself out of doing stuff because I'm not very good at fabricating things from scratch.
Today I was trying to figure out my orbital mount.  I came up with this and the round tube will weld to the frame after it's cut to size.

I didn't want to just weld angle to the plate since it was too small and the plate was a scrap piece so I didn't want to spend more money on plate.  Used what I had.

With any luck I'll have this mounted and hoses ran tomorrow to see if the whole thing is going to work.

PSC pump shipped today so I can get that and my new propane regulator on this week.  Those are the 2 major things hanging over my head right now once this orbital is installed

Steering valve mount installed with valve, adapter and column.  Hoses snugged up for routing.
Need to get some new hardware
Removed PS pump so I can swap in my PSC pump tomorrow then this steering project is done and on to my propane regulator

Steering is done other than tying up my hoses out of the way.  Only had to install and remove the ps pump twice...  stupid leaks

Dropped off my only out of date propane tank for recertification and filled up my other 2.

Tomorrow I'll swap the propane regulator and break down my bead lock with a flat and get another tire on there from my stash.

I'll need to go over everything Sunday and make sure nothing is loose then I'm ready.

Camper, truck and trailer are ready just need to load up after rig is done.
