Cut and notched some tube yesterday for my rear sides.  Tube not welded in yet and still need to get some expanded metal to make mini bed sides to strap spare shafts to.

Thoughts on vertical tube back there, do I need it?  I am trying to leave the front part open as much as possible to make getting the propane tanks in and out easiest.

just all bad luck at this point.  whatever is the worst that can happen will

I didn't like the way I had the plate in a rectangle shape over the frame for the shock hoop so I put my plasma cutter to use for it's first real job today.  Not bad once I got the hang of it.  That's 1/4' and it cut it pretty easily for my budget plasma cutter.
I'll burn it in tomorrow along with the horizontal tube for the passenger side rear.  Then install some expanded and call that side done.

I'm probably the last one to listen to about cage building since my has 4million feet of tubing lol.
I would tie the top of the shock hoop to the cage, if you hadn't planned too. And then do some tube at 45 degree angles from the top tube to the b pillar. Seems a bit open, but definitely understand trying to make the tank removal easier.
Let me know if you want some help.

I was going to tie that shock hoop the lower horizontal tube i'm adding.  Once that's in maybe I'll look at the vertical or triangulated pieces to see what I think.  I can use tape for a visual.  Thanks Tony

Tape is a good idea. I just kep hear Clint in my head saying "triangulate" and went a little overboard lol.

If you want a second set of eyes, give me a call.

I don't know if I like the look of the expanded metal but I got the passenger side completed.

Honest opinions?

The expanded metal is easier to tie things to

So it comes down to looks vs functionality.

Got the transmission out and getting dropped at sun transmission today.  I removed 1 bolt from the adapter and the entire thing just fell off on my tailgate.

Picked up some 3/8" plate to make this support for the rear of the 205.  removing the side mount i had and adding poly bushings under the tcases in hopes of not breaking anymore transmissions
also installing the poly competition motor mounts.

all mounts will be poly

Yes, I looked over everything and no cracks.  It is leaking at the seal between the adapter and trans.  I'm going to see if I can tighten it up or if I need to reseal it which is going to suck but I can get it done.

Stock rubber motor mounts are going to give more than the aftermarket mounts on the rear. I would run chains on the engine like we used to on our race cars to keep the engine from moving.
