Looks like 34" from bell housing to end of yoke. As far as wheel base goes I am using half of a YJ frame and the rest will be all tube. Looking to get 105" or more. Once I get all the pics up you will have better understanding of what I am doing. I would like to see some pics of your willys if you got any.
I was going to go out to my parents property today and take some pics of it but I found out my stepdad is really sick so I'm staying way far away from there for a couple of days. Mine is currently a pile of parts and it hasn't run since the tranny went out in it 15 years ago. I will post up as soon as I take some. I want to buggy mine but keep the outer body shell as close to stock looking as possible trying to stretch it without it being to noticable.

Yea, go to the forum and than go to jeep hardcore tech and then search willys. A lot of good builds this past year on the old willys. Sure will give you some good ideas.

Man there are some sick flatties on there. Now I'm really thinking of things I could do to mine, the body on mine is far from perfect so I won't be ruining anything. I guess I better hurry up and get a tube bender so I can get started on mine. Here is a pic of my stepdad's 52 3A.

I like it. You just need to fix the pic. I click on it and it doesn't get any bigger. Then I will be able to see more detail. My tub is shot also I am just going to skin it to fix it.

Ok I made it out to my parents place and got some pics of my rust bucket. The engine in it is a late 60's vette or camero 350 with the double hump fuely heads, it's the only good thing about the heep right now. I destroyed the 4spd that was in it about 17 years ago and it's been just collecting rust and junk since then.

Your tub looks to be in better shape than mine although pics can be deceiving. When I seen the trucker girl on the back I chuckled. You need to get her off of their and get her cleaned up man. Whats wrong with you?

Oh ya, I do have an SM 465 for sale. :wink2:

Here you go Marv. This rig is my favorite CJ 5 ever.

Buick V6 auto trans Dana 18 with low 3.15:1 Dana 44 axle's old school swampers the fat 36" tires. If you seen this rig in person you would fall in love with it. Very well put together and maintained. Very very clean for a rig that wheels with the best of them.

Ya, I'm thinking about brining it home this winter to start doing some tubing work on it. I want to keep it looking like a willys on the outside, stretching it about 10 inches and having it tubed and linked with dynatrak 44's. Compact, light and good hp = FUN!

That trucker girl brings back memories for sure when it was all about women, wheeling and beer! The wife said she has to come off there before I drive it again haha. What do you want for the tranny?

Lee,

I also had a V6 Jeep.

I was into the Sand Dunes at the time.... It was kind of a POS, but I had gutted it for weight savings...  It had a modified 231 odd-fire w/ 81 heads, a Weiand "Team G" intake and a Carter 500 AFB carb....!  This motor was good for 7k rpm!

Ahhh...... memories...!

lol I had to go and look in the for sale section to see what I was asking. It is $100 firm with a bell housing. Throw in the trucker girl and I will discount it $10. :spin:

Well me and that girl been through a lot together but I think it's time for her to make someone else happy. It's a deal! I live a couple hours away and I think I can be in Phoenix on the 31st if you can wait till then. I'm going on vacation and will be gone the next 10 days. I would like to see what you're building too.

This pic was shot in Spring of 1999...  And this was it's last trip to the Dunes.  I had been building on this Jeep since 1983.  I went Buggy after that..!

All's I do is work anymore. I've just spent 2 grand on the 85 toy and have so much more to buy. The 92 toy will be finished before the 97 TJ and the Willy's. Although I'm fixing to bring the tub up here so I can do the body work on it. Work work work so I can eat sh**. It's a good thing i'm drinking again otherwise I would probably have a heart attack and die. Kill the liver save the heart.

PLEASE be careful with the drinking.  It killed three of my grand parents and an Aunt. :jail: :hearts:
