Alternator wiring qeustion
« on: October 13, 2017, 04:13:19 PM »
Is the below image correct in that all 3 wires from my alternator on my sbc 350 can go to the same post on my starter?
Bypassing all original wiring and don't want to buy a 1 wire right now just for this.

just all bad luck at this point.  whatever is the worst that can happen will

I was reading that diagram wrong.
Basically what I'm needing to know is where do wires 1 and 2 go?
I have 3 going to the solenoid already.

I feel like the small red one went to the battery but I cant remember for sure

The brown or white one goes to the fuse panel and is for your low voltage light or gauge. you don't need to run that one unless you have a gauge

The top picture below is what Patrick sent me on how he did his.
The bottom picture is just another one I found while searching if you wanted to add an indicator.

Couldnt you just loop it to alternator lug? Also do you even use a charging gauge. Most of k5 gauges never work or are very accurate.
Hoopty with some decent parts that usually end up breaking.

I did just loop #2 to alternator lug. Left #1 off.
Now I'm on to wiring my lights and accessories then mount my panel
