MJ front axle connect
« on: July 19, 2014, 12:31:41 PM »
I'm tired of messing with my vacuum line problem on my Comanche and was hoping some jeep person has retired one of the cable locks front their model 30 axle.  I really don't plan on keeping the 30 after I get a 44 built for it, so I could be looking for something temporary.  I dod read about someone locking the axle connect sleeve in place with a hose clamp, but yuck.  Also heard that if the disconnect housing was mounted bacwards, the axle would stay locked.  Any thoughts?

That would be great if I had any THOUGHTS of keeping the model 30.             There's a 44 in the works......

Actually the second Alloy USA choice is a nice option to permanently lock-in the front axle and I'll be looking into it further.  Thanks Chuck.  With my health the way it is, the Comanche is a bunch easier for us to get into over the WILLYS, not to mention the 113" wheelbase.  Of course I will NEVER get rid of "LITTLE BLUE" the Willys.....

why not just pull it off and put a 1 piece shaft in and be done thats what my son did.
then you just put a flat plate over the hole. and its stronger than the 2 piece shaft by far.
it was a jeep thing but all that sh** broke.

I'm not going to keep the 30.  I just want it working for another 6 months or so.
