That Jeep looks nice and straight. Very nice upgrade from the burban and can still carry the little ones to the back country.

Yea I've been talking to him all week. We were supposed to meet up Saturday, but I decided to take the day off work and make it happen sooner.

The body is straight, interior is perfect, tires are like new. Room for the kids. Smoother ride. In my eyes an incredible score. Just have to work my magic on the Mechanical needs and it's ready to roll.

I've done some research on the rear main seal and from what I understand it's a common problem on the 4.0L. Tomorrow I'll get started.  :headbang:

Chances are way better, just have to do the few repairs I mentioned. As long as this rear main deal doesn't give me any issues I should make it.

Is type u have to drop oil pan? If so possible windage tray. On last one I did I loosened main bolts a little because before that I kept rolling the seal just enough on one part. U can do it without loosening main bolts just letting u know it helped hasn't leaked after replacing that seal. I'm assuming its a 2 piece seal just like on newer 4.0 but not sure.
Hoopty with some decent parts that usually end up breaking.

Yes I have to drop the oil pan, and it's a 2 piece seal. Right now I'm letting the oil drain out as much as possible.

Been workng since 3 pm changing out the rear main seal. Called it quits about 1/2 hr ago. Just need to reinstall the lower links to the axle and it will be done. Need to add oil and see what happens. :headbang:

Woke up this morning with a small amount of oil under the Jeep. Jumped right under there to see where it's coming from, and found the drain plug leaking a bit. Already installed a new drain plug gasket so I tightened it a bit more. Should take care of it. At least I know the rear main seal surgery was a success. :headbang:

Took my kids to school today and the Jeep wouldnt start, Started wiggling the gear sh** lever and it started. Looks like my Nuetral safety switch might be acting up. Will have to look into that this weekend.

Also tinted one window with some left over Tint i had from the Suburban.

Ill be doing little things here and there to make this Jeep mine. Also thing weekend or maybe one day this week. Need to swap out the radiator hoses for the new ones i got in the trade.

Of course all this really takes a backseat to changing the Fuel Pump on my wifes 98 Suburban. Shes been on me for weeks to change it so Saturday is her lucky day.
